Abstract

An international research team led by researchers from Tohoku University, OIST, KEK, QST, and other collaborating institutions has succeeded in realizing a boron-based analogue of graphene, known as borophene, on the surface of a stable three-dimensional crystal. Until now, the ideal honeycomb form of borophene has been difficult to create because of its structural instability.
