Chair, Executive Committee,
Quantum STrategic industry Alliance for Revolution(Q-STAR)

Research overview

The "Innovation Creation Platform" will focus on creating and supporting new businesses and start-ups, fostering human resources, idea cultivation, and  ecosystem building will serve as a foundation for innovation creation based on the results of the other three sub-programs.

The project will also actively disseminate information on research results, practical applications, and commercialization of quantum technology in collaboration with other sub-programs, and build an ecosystem mechanism and structure to match seeds companies (R&D results) with companies in need, thereby arousing the interest of user companies and investors, and attracting investment and human resources.

At the same time, we will find business ideas and human resources through business contests, promote human resource development through the development and implementation of educational programs, and promote the inflow of funds and human resources into quantum technology.

R&D Subject D-1
New business/startup creation and support

In emerging markets such as the quantum field, it is expected that new businesses and services will be created that have never been seen before, and start-up companies are expected to be promising players. For this reason, we will create and support new businesses (including the launch of new businesses in existing companies) and start-up companies by utilizing research results and testbeds in each field.

R&D Subject D-2
Development and implementation of educational programs

We will develop and secure a wide range of human resources in industry and academia by developing and providing educational programs for young talents (students, researchers/engineers, managers (including entrepreneurial personnel), etc.) in a wide range of fields in industry and academia, and for high-level human resources who can guide and foster the next generation of industrial human resources.

R&D Subject D-3
Idea cultivation

Establish a mechanism and structure to discover and create new businesses, services, and ideas utilizing quantum technology by planning and holding contests (pitch competition, ideathons/hackathons, etc.) to compete for businesses, services, and business ideas utilizing quantum technology.

As part of human resource development under R&D theme D-2 "Industry-Academia Collaborative Development Educational programs "  this project will be conducted in collaboration with Research Theme C-1a "Environment development for practical use of solid-state quantum sensors: towards social implementation"

R&D Subject D-4
Ecosystem building

In order to expand the use of quantum technology in various fields and to build a stable and robust supply chain with the participation of many companies, it is important to have a mechanism to promote the participation of companies in various fields, including user and vendor companies. To this end, we will establish an ecosystem for active information dissemination and matching.

Research Theme D-4
Support for market participation of start-up companies, both vendors and users, related to quantum technology
