Exhibited at “Tanoshimube! Festival” sponsored by Rokkasho-village
On 13 and 14 May, the Rokkasho Fusion Institute participated in the “Tanoshimube! Festival” held at Rokkasho village. Despite the rainy weather below 10 degrees on both days, science experiments, tin badge making were carried out and handed out some pamphlets in this events.
Many children and adults were enjoying the experiments, change of balloon by liquid nitrogen, ice cutting by diamond products using in the research institute, and introducing a principle of accelerator using plastic rail, magnet and pinball. The scientists are enthusiastically explaining to the participants who became familiar with mysterious phenomenon of science.
A total about 600 tin badges, filled with smiling pictures of children and family on the badges were given away for two days.
Unfortunately, it was rainy day, observation of the sun using solar telescope could not be performed, although we are happy to be part of this festival so that the local residents can get to know about the Rokkasho Fusion Institute.We expect that we will become essential community-based the Institute and make constant effort to build up and deepen understanding in the future.
