The Rokkasho Fusion Institute participated in a science café (aimed at elementary school students and older, at Osaka venue) on 17 through 23 April 2017, as one of the Science Technology Week, sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. A total of 14 (6 for children and 8 for adults) participants joined this event, and learned why does the sun shine, and “Creating the Sun on Earth! realization of fusion energy”, lectured by scientists. It introduces the participants some of research in the Rokkasho Fusion Institute, through a fun way of experiments, lightning a fluorescent lamp using plasma ball and cutting ice using artificial diamond.
