Kansai Photon Science Institute of the Japan Atomic Energy Agency jointly with the International Science and Technology Centre (ISTC), under the aegis of the Asian Intense Laser Network, would like to invite you to participate in The 6-th Asian Summer School and Symposium on Laser-Plasma Acceleration and Radiation (ASSS-6), to be held as a Satellite Meeting of IFSA2013: The International Conference on Inertial Fusion Science and Applications, 8-12, September 2013, Nara Japan (http://www.ifsa13.org/index.html). The Asian Summer School and Symposium on Laser-Plasma Acceleration and Radiation (ASSS-6) will be held from September 3 to September 6, 2013 at Kansai Photon Science Institute, Kizugawa-city, Kyoto, Japan.
The purpose of the 6-th Asia Summer School and Symposium on Laser-Plasma Acceleration and Radiation is to address studies of basic scientific problems associated with laser-plasma interactions, as well as industrial applications and applications to medical diagnostics and hadron therapy. Within the symposium program, we shall address special topics, related to the laser driven acceleration of charged particles and laser driven coherent and incoherent x-ray sources with their applications. As it relates to basic research in quantum field physics and astrophysics, special attention will be paid to the generation of super intense electromagnetic waves and to super intense static magnetic fields in high power laser – matter interactions.

- Lasers for energy production
- Relativistic and quantum interactions
- Laser-driven acceleration of charged particles
- Laser-driven radiation sources from THz to gamma-ray
- Medical and industrial applications
We hope that these topics are of interest to you. This Summer School will be held as a worldwide format where invitation will be sent to students and young scientists in Asia and other regions and the lecturers are invited also from Asia and other regions. We will ask excellent scientists to present lectures, which are easy to understand to all the participants. Poster sessions will be also held for presenting the research of the participants. We are looking forward to meeting you at ASSS-6.
The Summer School site is located at Kizugawa, where the Kansai Photon Science Institute is located, a small city very close to Nara City which is an old capital of Japan and within an one hour commute by train to Kyoto, Osaka and other historical sites in the Kansai region.
