LCS Gamma-ray Research Group

High energy photon beams can be generated via Laser Compton Scattering (LCS), which is a collision of relativistic electrons and laser photons.

LCS-gamma-en

Our research covers generation and application of LCS gamma-rays:

  • electron guns for small emittance and high average current
  • superconducting accelerators
  • energy recovery linacs
  • free electron lasers
  • gamma-ray optics
  • nuclear physics and nuclear astrophysics
  • non-destructive detection and measurement of nuclear material
  • Monte Carlo simulation codes
