Consultation

Future users of technical R&D in nanotechnology are welcome. Technical consultations with scientists or technicians of QST are available any time, free of charge.

Non-proprietary Research Proposals and Others

Non-proprietary research proposals can be accepted as research proposals of the Advanced Research Infrastructure for Materials and Nanotechnology (ARIM). User reports are public later. Proprietary research proposals can be accepted as internal projects of QST. Non-R&D proposals cannot be accepted as internal projects of QST.

Calls for Research Proposals

Calls for proposals are held in May for experiments conducted in the second half of the fiscal year, and in November for the first half of the following fiscal year. Each research proposal can use one experimental apparatus only. If multiple apparatuses are necessary, please submit one research proposal for each apparatus. Please confer with the person in charge of each experimental apparatus before submitting a proposal form to QST. Urgent research proposals are welcome at any time. Non-proprietary proposals are reviewed by the JAEA and QST joint proposal review committee.

Only “Research Collaboration” and “Technical Assistance” are available through QST. For “Research Collaboration”, users and QST collaborate on experiments, data analysis and academic discussions, QST staff are included in the author lists of publications, and service fees are not charged. Under “Technical Assistance”, users operate the equipment with the assistance of QST staff, and service fees are incurred.
