フロントエンドは挿入光源で発生した放射光成分から、熱成分などを取り除き利用実験必要なX 線だけを切り出しビームラインに導くための装置です。蓄積リングと真空的に一体であるため,超高真空を維持するための真空性能が要求されます。
A front-end refers to the set of devices that receive the synchrotron radiation generated by the insertion device, located upstream of the beamline optics.
Functions of the front-end
-Transports synchrotron radiation form light source to beamline
-Removes excess heat load
-Keeps the vacuum between the strage ring and beamline

The main beam shutter (MBS) consists of a combination of an absorber and a beam shutter.
The XY slit is composed of two L-shaped slits, each mounted on a precision XY stage driven by pulse motors. This configuration enables precise adjustment of the aperture in all four directions—up, down, left, and right.
Alumina fluorescent screenn monitors are used to observe the beam profile of synchrotron radiation emitted from the insertion device.
Figure 2 shows the radiation image captured during the commissioning phase of ID02U and ID06U (FY2023 winter). The ID-gap was at 15mm (minimum). From left to right in the figure, the phase positions were set to generate vertical-, circular-, horizontal-, circular-, and vertical-polarization, respectively.
