 International Radiation Therapist Training Program Application Guidelines

 

 1.Organizing Institution

 National Institutes for Quantum Science and Technology (QST), QST Hospital​

 

2.Objective

 This training program aims to enhance understanding of the practical duties of radiation therapists and healthcare systems related to carbon ion radiotherapy at QST Hospital for radiation therapists affiliated with medical institutions overseas.

 The program seeks to contribute to international healthcare personnel exchange and to the improvement of the quality of radiation therapy.

 

3.Program Description

 This program combines observation-based learning with supervised practical training without patient contact, focusing on the professional duties of radiation therapists related to carbon ion radiotherapy at QST Hospital.

 Note: Participants are strictly prohibited from performing any clinical procedures, radiation therapy tasks, or other medical interventions.

 

4.Eligibility

 Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:

  1.  Be a registered radiation therapist affiliated with a medical or educational institution outside Japan
  2.  Have basic clinical experience as a radiation therapist
  3.  Understand the objectives of the program and be able to comply with hospital regulations
  4.  Be able to submit a letter of recommendation from their home institution or affiliated organization for the safe and effective implementation of the program
  5.  Have sufficient proficiency in Japanese or English for basic communication, as designated by the hospital

 

5.Number of Participants, Training Period, and Application Period

 Notes

 The application deadline may be advanced depending on the number of applications received.

 Due to unavoidable circumstances, the training content or schedule may be subject to change.

 In such cases, applicants who have already applied will be notified by email.

 

6.Training Venue

 QST Hospital

 4-9-1 Anagawa, Inage-ku, Chiba-shi, Chiba 263-8555, Japan

 

 

7.Required Documents

  1. Completed Application Form
  2. Curriculum vitae (CV) with a recent photograph
  3. Letter of Recommendation from the applicant’s home institution or affiliated organization
  4. Any other documents deemed necessary by the QST hospital

 

8.Selection process

 Candidates will be selected based on a comprehensive review of the submitted documents (document screening)​

 

9.Notification of Acceptance

 Based on the results of the document screening, the hospital will determine whether to accept the applicant.

 Applicants will be notified of the result by email approximately three months before the start of the training program.

 Even after acceptance, the hospital may revoke the acceptance if circumstances arise that are deemed socially inappropriate.

 

10.Training Fee and Living Expenses

 Training fee: JPY 522,000 (tax included)

 Payment:The full amount must be paid by bank transfer no later than one week before the training start date.

 Bank Charges: All transfer fees must be covered by the applicant."

 Refund Policy: Fees paid will not be refunded, except in cases where the QST hospital cancels the program for its own reasons.

 Personal Expenses: All costs related to travel, accommodation, overseas travel insurance, medical insurance, and other living expenses during the stay in Japan shall be borne by the participant.

 

11.Application Submission

12.Certificate of Completion

  1.  Participants must comply with all hospital regulations, patient safety policies, personal information protection rules, and ethical standards during the training period.
  2.  Before the start of the training program, participants are required to review and sign a confidentiality agreement designated by the hospital.
  3.  A Certificate of Completion will be issued to those who successfully finish the program.

 

13.Personal information provided by applicants (such as name and address) will be handle​

 strictly in accordance with QST’s regulations on personal information protection and will not be used for purposes other than those listed below:

  1.  Emergency contact with participants
  2.  Providing information to instructors (e.g., professional background)
  3.  Follow-up after completion of the training
  4.  Other purposes necessary for the implementation of the training program
