Research Themes

The ion beam is a beam of charged particles with various mass of atom, molecule or the cluster of them. The species and the energy of the ion can be widely selected by using the ion source and the accelerator, The intensity, period, and the area, etc. of its irradiation can be controlled freely by adjusting parameters of the accelerator and utilizing the optimum irradiation technique. For the best use of the ion beam as a tool that cuts the apical region in the material and biotechnology and the life science field open, we are advancing the research and development concerning an advanced beam technology, such as the micro/nano beam technology and a reformative accelerator and the ion source technology, etc., so as to provide seeds of new research fields, as well as to comply with an up-to-date research needs.
