The 8th QST International Symposium (第8回QST国際シンポジウム)

The research and development of fusion energy has been accelerated around the world both in the governmental-led programme and in the private-sector based on the trend toward global carbon neutrality. In QST Naka Institute for Fusion Science and Technology, JT-60SA achieved a first tokamak plasma on 23rd October 2023. JT-60SA is the world’s largest operational superconducting tokamak constructed with EU-Japan collaboration in the Broader Approach (BA) activities. QST has significantly contributed to the ITER project with completing manufacture and delivery of the toroidal field superconducting coils in 2023. Two start-up companies have been launched in May and July 2023 from QST Rokkasho Institute for Fusion Energy for implementing the fusion technologies of Lithium recovery and Beryllium refinement. Based on these activities in QST, QST decided to hold the symposium in the field of fusion energy with the main theme of “Fusion Technologies Innovation towards a Net Zero Society” at Link Station Hall AOMORI on 14th and 15th November, 2024 .

Details will be announced on this website as soon as they are finalized.
